Workshop on Facilitating Palestinian Trade: Dry-Port and Bonded Warehouses

The concept of dry port and bonded warehouses are top on the Palestinian public and private sectors agenda. These concepts are presently being assessed as means to facilitate Palestinian trade and mitigate the restriction imposed by the Israeli authorities. It is argued that they might have extensive positive impacts on the Palestinian trade and economy. The introduction of either or both of these facilities in the OPT would definitely lead to fundamental changes in the trading business, many new practices would evolve and many of the current trading practices would become obsolete.

However, since no much information is currently available on these concepts and their relevance to the Palestinian context. The PSC held on 15th of January 2013 a workshop on “Dry-Port and Bonded Warehouses”, this workshop succeeded to bring together 32 representatives from the Chambers of Commerce, Private sector companies from importers and exporters, Metal and Engineering Industries, Telecommunication, Contracting Firms, Pharmaceuticals industries, Consulting firms, in addition to Media and Newspapers.
