As part of the Capacity Development Project for Facilitating Palestinian Trade which seeks to fill the knowledge gap by increasing the ability of PSC staff to deliver quality training relevant to the needs of the Palestinian shipping community, the PSC in cooperation with UNCTAD, and CCE is planning to develop a professional training program in international trade management and Transport Logistics.
This training program will consist of independent training modules that provide a comprehensive knowledge in all aspects of managing the importation and exportation of goods from and into Palestine, including the national trade regime and governmental requirements and procedures, the management and control of the international flow of goods. It will furthermore introduce fundamentals and best practices of logistics and transport management.
The training modules will be offered at least once a year in Arabic language as classroom teaching, integrating study visits, case studies and real cases examples. Duration of the training will be 36 hours per module.
In this context, in order to ascertain the depth and level of training required, and to ensure that the needs assessment conducted early 2012 by the PSC and UNCTAD fully reflects the specific needs of the target group. The PSC held a focus group on the 6th February 2013 to consult with stakeholders that constitutes the target group of the training program, to obtain their feedback and inputs on the proposed modules of professional training program and the overall training activities.
