Workshop on Export Procedures

In the trade sector working group meeting that was held in February 2013 with the participation of the Palestinian Minister of National Economy, CIDA, the International Institutions, Donors and various Palestinian institutions, concerns were expressed from the low volumes of the Palestinian export, the limited number of the export destinations and from the ability of the Palestinian economy to grow in the light of those facts.

Various reasons lay behind the slow growth of the Palestinian export; Poor competitive advantage, Poor marketing capabilities, Complex regulations and Lack of know-how.

The urgent need to develop the knowledge of the private sector in all aspects of exporting was also brought to the PSC’s attention, in a meeting held between the PSC and Federation of Chambers, in January 2013.

Accordingly, the PSC/UNCTAD organized on the 3rd of July 2013 a one day training workshop that clarified the export process in a step by step manner. To achieve the aim of this workshop, Ministry of National Economy (MoNE) provided core part of the workshop to cover the Palestinian side procedures and documentations. Furthermore, MoNE coordinated also other parts of the workshop by contacting Customs and Federation of Chambers to cover procedures from their side.
