Alternative Dispute Resolution
The Legal Unit is making increased efforts to provide needed legal support to members of PSC in order to facilitate their businesses and eliminate obstacles that could affect their development. The Unit works also towards providing variety of mechanisms in addressing disputes that may occur between them and other traders or foreign companies. Such disputes would require high cost and effort actions that may cause Palestinian traders to sometimes drop cases and give up their rights. Therefore, the Legal Unit gives special attention to alternative dispute resolution tools and mechanisms. Providing these alternatives has major positive impact on protecting rights of Palestinian traders in many cases. Within services provided by the Unit, members receive full legal support and consultation with regards to alternative mechanisms such as arbitration and mediation, in formulating and negotiating contracts, and in stages of implementation of those contracts. The Legal Unit cooperates with the Technical Unit of PSC to provide consultations as an expert upon requests made from arbitrators, mediators or courts. In addition, the Legal Unit built and continues to build partnerships with arbitration centers locally and internationally in order to recommend them to members.
This service is still under development, we will update you accordingly.
